■ A Square Deal: Small Works Exhibition ■
The Smithy Gallery opens its 2026 exhibition season with A Square Deal: Small Works Exhibition, on view June 3 through July 11, 2026. The public is invited to attend the Opening Reception on Tuesday, June 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. and celebrate the start of the season with artists, friends, and community members.
Bringing together works by 40 Smithy member artists and over 50 invited guest artists, A Square Deal explores the creative possibilities that emerge through intentional limitation. Every piece in the exhibition follows a strict square format and measures no more than 10 inches in any direction, challenging artists to rethink scale, composition, and presentation.
Featuring painting, ceramics, photography, sculpture, fiber, mixed media, and more, the exhibition highlights a wide range of artistic voices and approaches. Though small in size, the works invite viewers to slow down, look closely, and discover the richness and beauty contained within intimate forms.
The Tuesday, June 2 Opening Reception
is free and open to the public.
