THREE NEW EXHIBITS OPENING THIS FRIDAY   OPENING RECEPTION Friday, May 15 | 5-7pm Awards at 6 PM  Free & Open to the Public Above Left: Crossing the River, Emily Falco Above Right: Fireflies, Emily Falco Opening Reception  This Friday The Cooperstown Art Association invites the public to one of its most anticipated events of the year: the opening reception for three new exhibitions on Friday, May 15, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  This special evening celebrates ESSENTIAL ART: the 35th Annual Regional Juried Art Show, “Everything is a Part of Everything Else” by Emily Falco, and the 60th Annual Leatherstocking Brush & Palette Club Fine Arts Exhibition. Both the Regional and “Everything is a Part of Everything Else” remain on view through June 25, while the Leatherstocking Brush & Palette Club exhibit closes sooner, on June 17.  Awards for ESSENTIAL ART are presented at 6:00 p.m.  Gallery Hours: Tuesday - Saturday | 11am-4pm  Essential Art:  35th Regional Juried  Art Show Gallery A Opening Friday in Gallery A, ESSENTIAL ART showcases outstanding contemporary work by artists from across New York State.   Selected by jurors Emma Golden and Sarah Simpson, the exhibition brings together exceptional works in a variety of styles and mediums, celebrating both technical skill and artistic vision.The exhibition features an exciting range of painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, mixed media, and more, offering visitors a vibrant look at the creativity and diversity of today’s artists.  Sarah Simpson, Gallery Director at SUNY Oneonta, leads an active exhibition program across three campus galleries while supporting both emerging and established artists. Emma Golden, Executive Director of the Sam & Adele Golden Foundation for the Arts, has devoted her career to championing artists through residencies, exhibitions, and community-centered initiatives. Together, they bring a wealth of curatorial expertise and a shared passion for contemporary visual art. Gallery Hours: Tuesday - Saturday | 11am-4pm Everything is a Part of Everything Else by Emily Falco Gallery B  In Gallery B, Everything is a Part of Everything Else features watercolor and oil paintings by Emily Falco, exploring the emergence of spring and the quiet beauty of everyday life.   As Emily Falco describes, her philosophy centers on noticing the poetic beauty within everyday experience — where ordinary, even uncomfortable moments become vivid and painterly, and the act of making art is meaningful in itself rather than defined by explanation.  Falco is nationally recognized for the romantic sensibility of her work, with features in American Artist Watercolor magazine and appearances on Martha Stewart Live. She has exhibited extensively since 2008, including at the Salmagundi Club in New York. Falco holds a B.F.A. from The Cooper Union School of Art and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in education at SUNY Plattsburgh. This exhibition remains on view through June 25. Now in its 60th year, this highly anticipated exhibition features an exciting array of works in watercolor, acrylic, oil, and pastel, reflecting both tradition and innovation within the local arts community.
