"Small Towns” Brings Original Music to Smithy Gallery On Tuesday, August 18th! Smithy Gallery is thrilled to host “Small Towns,” an admission-free concert and live album recording featuring musicians Evan Jagels, Laura Andrea Leguia, and Nicholas Anderson on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 starting at 5 pm. The evening will celebrate the power of music, storytelling, and community as the artists premiere original compositions inspired by life in rural communities across New York, California, and Peru. During this unique performance, audience members will be invited to share personal stories and memories from their own lives. Drawing inspiration from these shared experiences, the musicians will collaboratively create a new improvised composition—capturing the energy, voices, and stories of the community in a live recording for the first time. “Small Towns” explores the connections between place, memory, and human experience, transforming individual stories into a collective artistic expression. The performance offers audiences a rare opportunity to witness the creative process unfold in real time and become part of the work itself. The concert features:
- Laura Andrea Leguia
- Nicholas Anderson
- Evan Jagels
The event is free and open to the public. Space is limited, and seating is first come, first served—arrive early to make sure you’re part of this one-of-a-kind experience! “Small Towns” is made possible with public funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Governor’s Office and the New York State Legislature, and administered by The Earlville Opera House. |
