Painting with Cold Wax

4 Saturdays | April 20 & 27, May 4 & 11

10:00 am - 12:30 pm

$115 CAA Members | $120 Non-Members

Materials Provided

This series explores cold wax medium and the basic tools, materials and techniques used for achieving luminous, layered oil paintings. We will focus on abstract painting, but students are encouraged to explore their own style. You will have the opportunity to complete paintings on wood panels and paper. This class is suitable for beginners as well as artists interested in working in a new medium.

One-Day Workshop

May 19 | 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

$125 CAA Members | $130 Non-Members

+ $30 Materials Fee

During this one-day workshop which is divided into four sessions, you will learn how to create luminous paintings by building layers of molten encaustic wax - an ancient art form with very contemporary applications. This session provides a solid foundation for more advanced encaustic studies and is appropriate for artists who are brand new to encaustics as well as those who have some experience but who would like to revisit encaustic painting techniques and safety fundamentals.
