An Important Message from The Cooperstown Art Association

Out of concern for the health and well-being of our visitors, community and staff , The CAA Gallery, shop, and offices will be closed until further notice. Our upcoming April exhibits --"Recent Paintings by Robert Moylan" and "Abstract Acrylics by Carol Saggese" -- have been cancelled and rescheduled for April 2021. Moving forward, we will be monitoring the situation closely and will be making further scheduling changes as needed. Please stay tuned for updates, which will be posted on our website and Facebook page.     We hope that everyone is staying healthy and making the best of our current situation and we are looking forward to serving the community again as soon as possible!    On a Lighter Note... We will be hosting an Online Art Exhibit on our website and Facebook page, and we need submissions! We are hoping this opportunity will provide a creative outlet for people with cabin fever and also a platform for the community to enjoy viewing some artwork together! This virtual exhibit is open to anyone and everyone. We want to see what you've been working on, even if it's a work-in-progress! To participate, just DM the Cooperstown Art Association on Facebook with a photo of your artwork and any details you want to include (name, title, medium, etc.) We will be updating the ongoing exhibit with new submissions as we receive them, so send us your photos and help us provide a source of inspiration and creativity during the coming weeks!

After School Kids Art Classes at the CAA!

Or Check Out the Rest of the Spring Schedule! MONDAY Advanced Wheel Throwing w/ Adam Jennett This class is for the student looking to take their pottery skills to the next level. This class will expand your knowledge of both pottery forms and surface decoration. We will cover some newer forms to use in the kitchen such as butter dishes, berry bowls, salt cellars, and more. We will also take time to explore some new surface treatments with both slip and glaze! This class is geared towards intermediate to advanced students. >>>   9 - 12pm | 8 weeks | Mar 16 - May 4 | $220 TUESDAY Hand Building w/ Ann Geiger Wheel throwing is not the only way to create beautiful pottery! Ann will guide you through a four-week adventure, creating a variety of functional items made from slabs of clay. Ann is an experienced hand-builder. Come, learn and have fun! No experience is necessary. >>>  9 - 12pm | 4 weeks | Mar 17 - Apr 7 | $125   Intermediate Wheel: Form and Function w/ Eileen Anania This class is designed to strengthen your foundation skills and give you the techniques and confidence to work with larger amounts of clay. Eileen will walk you through making various types of plates (dinner plates, pie plates, chip and dip) and bowls (pasta bowls, serving bowls and fruit bowls) as well as planters for spring flowers! Special consideration will be given to the form and function of your pieces as well as glazing. If you're ready to take your throwing skills to the next level, this class is for you. Designed for students with some clay experience. >>>   6 - 9pm | 8 weeks | Mar 24 - May 12 | $220 WEDNESDAY Intermediate Wheel: Form and Function w/ Eileen Anania This class is designed to strengthen your foundation skills and give you the techniques and confidence to work with larger amounts of clay. Hand building and wheel throwing both welcome! >>>   9 - 12pm | 8 weeks | Mar 20 - May 8 | $220 SATURDAY The Practice of Pottery w/ Justin Mastrangelo This skill building class welcomes new students and experienced potters to learn and improve their abilities. Each class we'll use the studio's recycled clay body to practice throwing essential forms, apply throwing techniques, attach handles, and combine multiple thrown forms. These "practice pots" will be recycled and a large portion of class will be dedicated to improving your own work using the variety of techniques you've applied. >>>  10am - 1pm | 8 weeks | Mar 21 - May 9 | $220 OPEN STUDIO March 16 - May 09  (8 WEEKS)   Use of studio during scheduled hours.
