For Kids...

Little Smithy's Hand-building - Our youngest artists will learn the essentials of clay construction, through project-based learning. Clay can be manipulated in three basic ways, Slabs, Coils, and Pinching. This class focuses on projects that serve as an introduction to all three. The instructor will introduce students to basic techniques such as slipping and scoring, surface textures, and glaze finish. All materials are included with tuition. Students should bring a smock (large t-shirt apron...) and a water bottle. They can leave their smocks here at the studio. Follow the Registration link for more details.

For Adults...

Hand-Built Totems with Ann - Ann will guide you through the hand building process of creating a totem for your home or garden. Bring your creative ideas and transform them into ceramic totem poles. A metal armature will be used for the support structure providing a durable indoor outdoor placement option. No experience is required just bring your imagination.Follow the Registration link for more details.

Clay Sculpture For Beginners - This 6-week clay sculpture class will teach you the basics of clay sculpting. You will learn a simple yet effective technique to shape your clay into different forms and also how to add details to your sculptures using tools and other materials. Students can select their own subjects for their work. The instructor will help you build, refine and enhance work. This class is perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to sculpt with clay for the first time and for seasoned artist who want to work in a community of creative minds. Advance Interest in Wheel Throwing - In this 6-week pottery course, you will learn a variety of advanced pottery techniques. Bring your own interests to class and let the instructor help you reach your goals or let the instructor challenge you with advance forms, and surface treatments. One-On-One with Eileen - Want to learn a new throwing skill or sharpen the skills you already have? If so, this is a unique opportunity to learn one-on-one, side by side from one of our most experienced instructors. There are two time slots to choose from 9:00 am - 11:00 am and 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Centering the Potter and the Clay - Learn the basics of wheel throwing in this fun and relaxing evening class. I’ll lead some stretching and breathing to shift from our bust day into this space of creativity. With attention to body alignment to increase safety, we will practice making multiple forms on the wheel. Throwing, trimming, glazing, and some hand-building techniques are all included in this 8-week course.

Exploring the Potter Wheel with Mairi - We will explore pottery on the wheel in this fun and inclusive 6-week class. Beginners will be introduced to clay and wheel-throwing techniques. Students will learn the technique of throwing, centering, and making cylinders, bowls, and mugs. We will move through the process of trimming, pulling & attaching handles, and glazing. Intermediate and advanced students will be guided through a technique of their choice: lidded vessels, plates, and platters, pitchers and spouts, closed forms, or planters.

Independent Study with Karla - This independent study is for students who have adequate throwing skills but who prefer to have a professional instructor available for technical questions. Participants are free to explore their own creativity on or off the pottery wheel. 

One-on-One Single Sessions with Karla - Want to learn a new throwing skill or sharpen the skills you already have? If so, this is a unique opportunity to learn one-on-one, side by side from one of our most experienced instructors.

6-Week Open-Studio - Open Studio will continue as normal starting Monday, January 8th, 2024.
