American Ideals
In September 1937, Farm Security Administration photographer Arthur Rothstein came to Otsego
County to document the construction of a new lumber mill and the people it would benefit.
He additionally captured images of the Cooperstown area, creating photographs emphasizing hard work, family, rural values, and small town life.
This exhibit was curated by Dr. Cynthia Falk and students of the Cooperstown Graduate Program: Lynds Jones, Kim McCleary, Kimberly Rose, Alex Sniffen, Calene Bermann
