Teen Mindful Wheel Throwing w/ Karla Andela Tuesdays, 5pm - 8pm, 8 weeks, Sep 6 - Oct 25 $280 w/ bag of clay *No experience required Description: We will weave together mindfulness and playfulness in this unique class for teens. We will start and end class with some stretching and centering and use the material of clay to explore mindfulness in action. The focus of the class will be on basic wheel throwing skills with some hand building sprinkled in for good measure. Beginners are welcome! Centering the Potter and the Clay w/ Karla Andela Wednesdays, 6pm -9pm, 8 weeks, Sep 14 - Nov 2 $280.00 w/ bag of clay *No experience required Description: All levels welcome- Learn the basics of wheel throwing in this fun and relaxing evening class. I’ll lead some stretching and breathing to shift from our busy day into this space of creativity! With an attention to body alignment to increase safety, we will practice making multiple forms on the wheel. Throwing, trimming, glazing and some hand building techniques are all included in this 8 week class. *8-Person Capacity
Creative Clay Slab Constructions Hand Building w/ Megan Irving Wednesdays, 10am - 1pm, 8 weeks, Sep 7 - Oct 26 $280.00 w/ bag of clay *Some Clay Experience Helpful Description: In this playful and independent class we will learn about handbuilding with clay slabs—making and attaching pieces together to build vessels, structures, and tiles. Other handbuilding techniques like coils and surface work will be covered as needed. Taking a few risks by trying something adventurous while you have the support of a class structure will be encouraged so bring your fresh ideas and we will work together to create them. Partway through the eight week session we will spend a little time learning from each other by showing each other our progress. During the second half of class some students may wish to work on display options, preparing their work for a gallery or home setting while other students may make another version or multiples of their first projects. Some experience with clay will be helpful and allow for more ambitious projects but beginners are welcome. *8-Person Capacity
