Draw on Fabric, Design & Sew by Hand and with a Machine with Betsy Foster
6 Fridays | October 4 - November 8 3:15 am - 5:00 pm | Ages 7-12 $145 CAA Members | $150 Non-Members Materials Provided
Designed for beginner sewers in ages 7-12, this six-week course will introduce kids to essential sewing techniques, from hand stitching to confidently using a sewing machine. With a focus on both safety and creativity, kids will build practical skills while expressing their artistic side. Each week, students will work on a new project that grows in complexity—starting with pot holders, then moving on to pillowcases, quilting squares, and ending with a crossbody bag featuring a zipper. Along the way, they'll experiment with various fabrics and even design their own patterns using fabric pens. By the end of the program, your child will know how to thread needles, sew buttons and zippers, cut and measure fabric, and use a sewing machine. Most importantly, they’ll bring home projects they’re proud of and new skills that inspire a lifetime of creativity! |
