    Hand Prints Summer Art Classes

   at the Cooperstown Art Association

for children ages 7-12

 

The Cooperstown Art Association is currently offering 3 weeks of art workshops for children ages 7-12 starting Tuesday, July 30th.

 

Join us Tuesday & Thursday, July 30th & August 1st, from 1-3pm each day for "Painting Landscapes & the Lake" with Susan Kenyon.  Cost is $45 for members or $50 for non-members.  Susan will teach a step-by-step approach to painting using environmentally friendly acrylics.

 

Next we have "Classical Creatures" with Doug Jamieson on

Tuesday & Thursday, August 6th & 8th from 1-3pm.  Cost is $45 for members and $50 for non-members.  Doug will show you step-by-step how to draw classical imaginary creatures. 

 

On Tuesday, August 13th from 1-3pm, we have "Printing with Sunlight" with Karin Bremer.  Cost is $28 for members and $33 for non-members.  Come learn a fun new technique for printing on fabric with natural light & colorful dyes.  Using small objects, bits of nature & paper cut outs, we will design & shadow-print on t-shirts and/or tote bags. 

 

Karin Bremer will also teach "Basic Metalsmithing & Jewelry Design" on Thursday, August 15th from 1-3pm.  Cost is $28 for members and $33 for non-members.  Students will learn an array of basic metalsmithing techniques in relation to jewelry design.  Stamping, doming, cold connections & colorful patinas will be explored.  Each will come away with their own uniquely finished pieces.

 

The Cooperstown Art Association's Hand Prints Workshops will be held at the CAA Big Red Annex Art School at 5 Railroad Avenue in Cooperstown, NY. 

 

The Cooperstown Art Association Galleries are located at 22 Main Street in the Village Building on the corner of Main and Fair Streets.

 

Hours:  Daily 11-4, Sunday 1-4, closed Tuesdays Labor Day through Memorial Day.  Admission is free and open to the public.  Please call (607) 547-9777 for details and for registration.  Registration is limited to 10 per workshop so don’t delay!
