The Smithy Gallery is Opening for the Season

OPEN FOR THE SEASON! Shadows & Reflections Opening Reception Tuesday, June 3, 5-7pm Shadows & Reflections will be an exhibition featuring artwork by both Smithy Member Artists and invited Guest Artists. Shadows & Reflections are everywhere, physically and metaphorically. We “reflect” on our experiences to interpret our individuality, we “shadow” others to glean what we can from their own sense of self. These tools are just as useful in the visual arts, providing impactful insight into ones creation. The first two floors of The Smithy Gallery will feature work by Smithy Member Artists along with Guest Artists who have been invited based on their exceptional and creative talents within theme. This exhibit will remain on display through July 12 during our Gallery Hours: Tuesday - Saturday from 11am-4pm. Please note that we ask all food and drink remain outside during the Opening Reception. Don’t miss the Smithy Clay Studio’s Raku Firing Event On Saturday, June 7, 11am – 5pm! Pre-register for this fun & interactive event to have your bisque ware to glazed and fired, walk-ins are also welcome to spectate or participate with limited sample pieces available for purchase on the day of the event. Raku is a traditional Japanese pottery technique known for its unique, unpredictable glaze effects and rapid firing process in an outdoor kiln. Originating in the 16th century, it involves removing pieces from a hot kiln and placing them in combustible materials to create distinctive textures and colors.
